PRIMERA LÍNEA
Primera línea es un proyecto fotográfico inspirado en el relato “Un tiro de gracia”, en el que Emilio Pérez Rosas, cuenta retazos de las vivencias que le marcaron durante la Guerra Civil española y que quedaron cosidas a su corazón. Fueron contadas, según decía él, con el retraso de toda una vida, después de setenta años cargando con su historia, intentando creer que olvidar era aliviar.
"No son historias que me contaron. Son mis vivencias convertidas en historia. No acuso. Sólo constato."
En la naturaleza pasó sus peores momentos de la batalla, en primera línea, y ahí, entretejida con ella, sus bosques, sus ramblas y campos, he llevado su memoria.
Emilio tenía 18 años.
Dedicado a mi tío Emilio, que sobrevivió a la primera línea de la Guerra Civil, al tiro de gracia y a todas las secuelas físicas y emocionales que le marcaron y le acompañaron a lo largo de su vida.

FRONT LINE
Front Line is a photographic project inspired by the story "Un tiro de gracia" (A Coup de Grâce), in which Emilio Pérez Rosas shares fragments of the experiences that scarred him during the Spanish Civil War and remained stitched to his heart. They were told, as he used to say, with the delay of an entire lifetime, after seventy years of carrying his history, trying to believe that forgetting was a form of relief.
"These are not stories I was told. They are my experiences turned into history. I do not accuse. I merely witness."
It was in nature where he spent his worst moments of the battle, on the front line; and there, interwoven with it—its forests, its ravines, and fields—is where I have carried his memory.
Emilio was 18 years old.
To my Uncle Emilio, who survived the front lines of the Civil War, the coup de grâce, and all the physical and emotional scars that marked him and stayed with him throughout his life.
